Sept 05

“Day 1. – Within an hour of arriving we were so in love with this place. Already we had named the male King Parrot “George” as he was sitting on our arms and eating out of our hands. Then walking along the beach at sunset we were greeted by a school of bottle necked dolphins. There are no words to fully capture the feeling of serenity and peace. The bird life is just amazing. We were greeted by a bird that looked like a cross between a Magpie and a Crow. Thanks for the book that helped us identify him as a Pied Currawong.

Day 2 – Thousands of birds around today. Love the King Parrots so much they are beautiful. Have emailed pics of them around the world to friends and family already. Silly us went out and left the bird seed jar outside. It had the lid on, but by the time we got back it was empty.

Day 3 -Woke to a Koala straight outside the lounge window. Watched him come down the tree and up another. How do they balance? What BEAUTIFUL ANIMALS THEY ARE. This place imparts such a feeling of tranquility. it’s a perfect spot to get away from it and just sit. I love it. Dinner down at the most beautiful pub in the world (Wye River pub) topped off a brilliant day.

Day 4 – Back home today. We’ll be back.” (Stensons and Coopers)
